The Northeast Oregon Economic Development District (NEOEDD), in partnership with Reinventing Rural, will be offering the CO.STARTERS CORE program for small business entrepreneurs interested in successfully launching a small business idea. CO.STARTERS CORE equips entrepreneurs of all kinds with the insights, relationships, and tools needed to turn business ideas into action.
CO.STARTERS walks small business owners or those with a business idea through lean, effective business modeling methods in a simple, visual, and intuitive way, while connecting them to a supportive community of peers and mentors.
Entrepreneurs will meet for ten sessions in Enterprise on Tuesday evenings starting January 17 and in La Grande on Thursday evenings starting January 19. Classes will start at 6:00 p.m. and finish by 9:00 p.m. Sessions will be led by facilitator Lisa Dawson, NEOEDD’s Executive Director. The facilitator will guide participants through the program by asking the right questions, drawing on the knowledge in the room, and using available resources and connections in the community to point participants in the right direction. CO.STARTERS participants are encouraged to build and test small models first. In the process, participants receive real-time customer feedback, update their models to meet customer needs and avoid creating businesses based on incorrect assumptions. In addition to exploring different topics each week, guest speakers enrich the conversation and help participants learn from the experience of others in the community.
