“Destination Creation” Business Course

Make your business a “destination” with this online course designed by The Shallert Group and led by NEOEDD executive director Lisa Dawson. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 15 to Oct. 8, 5 to 7:30 p.m.

NEOEDD offers a new workshop series starting Sept. 15 for business owners: “Destination Creation.” Making your business a destination for consumers means that you have the ability to attract customers from beyond your immediate marketplace. This series will give you the framework for how to think about your business, the changes you will need to make in order to pivot to online sales, and how you will position your business to become a “destination” that customers will frequent during the time of COVID and beyond.

This series has helped businesses capture more market share, even when larger, better-capitalized competitors seemingly have the advantage. When independent business owners apply the destination strategy to their businesses, they naturally attract more local consumers along with customers from outside the traditional marketplace.

A certified facilitator of the program, NEOEDD Executive Director Lisa Dawson will bring decades of experience working with businesses to the online discussions about the destination business concepts, which are presented by small business mentor Jon Schallert.

The program comprises eight chapters and a bonus session:

  • Chapter 1: Introduction to Becoming a Destination Business
  • Chapter 2: Foundation of a Destination Business
  • Chapter 3: Leadership Responsibility

  • Chapter 5: Capturing Consumer Media Attention
