Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy 2023-2028
NEOEDD is developing the 2023-2028 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for Baker, Union and Wallowa Counties. In the fall, we gathered input from the public about opportunities, issues and weaknesses to identify important areas of focus. This input resulted in the identification of four focus areas: workforce development, housing, infrastructure, and business development to increase economic diversity. In January, community and organizational leaders gathered to identify current initiatives and brainstorm ideas for new projects in the focus areas. We will be gathering on April 5 and 6 to develop strategies and action plans for focus-area projects. Organizations and government agency representatives interested in developing strategies and action plans are encouraged to complete this survey and participate in one of these work sessions.
On April 5, a work session will be held at Community Connection, 702 1st Street, Enterprise from 2:30-5:00 p.m.
On April 6, a work session will be held at La Grande City Library, 2006 Fourth Street, from 9:30 a.m. – noon. A second work session will be held at Baker County Extension Service, 2600 East St, Baker City from 2:30 – 5:00 p.m.
